Gaza emergency
No food. No shelter. Unless you act.

Of your Zakat reaches those entitled to it
We cannot stop the war. We can stop a family going hungry tonight. That is the whole of what we are asking you to fund, and it is not a small thing to the family it reaches.
Whoever relieves a believer of one of the hardships of this world, Allah will relieve him of one of the hardships of the Day of Resurrection.
Sahih Muslim 2699
What is happening now
Food has become a currency. Flour that cost a few shekels now costs more than most families earn in a month, and even at that price it often is not there to buy. The World Health Organization has described the hunger in Gaza as man made, caused by what is allowed through the crossings rather than by what exists in the world. Lorries wait at the border while children are treated for malnutrition a few miles away.
Clean water is the second crisis behind the first. Pumping stations need fuel and fuel is rationed, so families drink what they can find. Around one in five pregnant women is undernourished, which means the next generation is being harmed before it is born.
What we are doing
Our teams and partners are inside Gaza, not managing this from a distance. The work is deliberately simple, because simple things survive a collapsed supply chain:
- Hot meals. Community kitchens cooking and serving daily, which reaches people with no fuel and no working kitchen of their own.
- Emergency packs. Food, basic medicine and water together, so a family is not left solving one problem at a time.
- Water trucking. Six thousand litre deliveries to shelters and neighbourhoods where the mains have failed.
- Shelter. Tents, tarpaulin and fixings for families whose building is gone.

What we will not promise
We will not tell you that your donation is guaranteed to reach a named person on a named day. Crossings close without warning and convoys are turned back. What we will promise is that your gift is spent on this emergency, that we hold stock ready to move the moment a route opens, and that we will tell you plainly if something we planned could not be done.
Questions about giving to Gaza
If your question is not here, call us. A person answers, and they can look up your donation.
Contact usHow does my donation actually reach Gaza?
Through partners already inside Gaza who buy locally where markets function and receive convoyed supplies where they do not. Nothing depends on a single route, because single routes close.
Can I give my Zakat to this appeal?
Yes. Choose Zakat when you give and your gift is held in a separate fund and distributed only to people eligible to receive Zakat under the eight categories.
What if aid cannot get in when I donate?
We hold and pre-position stock so it moves the moment a crossing opens. If a route stays closed, your gift is used for the same purpose in the same emergency rather than sitting idle.
Is £15 really five meals?
It is what five cooked meals cost us to prepare and hand over, including the fuel and the labour. It is not a projection.
Will you tell me where my gift went?
Our teams report on each distribution and we publish what we delivered. If you want more detail on a specific gift, call us on 020 3633 2779.
